Lincoln Military Housing offers 1,590 homes within 6 communities serving the Naval Air Station at Lemoore, which is less than 5 miles of travel from home to work.

Local Attractions

Downtown Lemoore and Hanford, only 5 minutes away, offers many shopping, services, schools, parks, and golf courses including Adventure Park, Golf-n-Fun, as well as a number of colorful farmer’s markets.

Lemoore is approximately 3 1/2 hours driving distance to major cities like Los Angeles and San Francisco. Approximately 2 hours from Sequoia National Parks , Yosemite National Parks, Kings Canyon, Morro Bay, and Pismo. Nearby Fresno—the Central Valley’s largest metropolis— offers many cultural and entertainment excursions, including the Chafee Zoo, festivals, rodeos, and the largest harvest fair in all of California and all only 45 miles away.

The Commissary, NEX, Jet Mart and food court are only minutes away and located on base. Within approximately 10 minutes away are Wal-Mart, Target, Kmart, Hanford Mall, and various grocery stores.

Schools

Central Union Elementary School District is located in Lemoore, California, in the heart of the San Joaquin Valley about 45 minutes south of Fresno, halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles. The communities of Central, Stratford, and the City of Lemoore are rich with history, tradition, and warm, caring people. The District resides in a rich agricultural area, which has two Federal facilities within its boundaries: the Santa Rosa Rancheria Indian Reservation and the Lemoore Naval Air Station.

The economic structure of the area is based upon farming, primarily cotton, grains, some dairy, and the U.S. Military. The District is comprised of four schools. All have been California Distinguished Schools and two of the schools were honored as National Blue Ribbon Schools. All of the schools operate on a traditional calendar. The District is sensitive to the specific needs of the students it serves in kindergarten through eighth grade.

For the 2006-2007 school year District enrollment was 1,957 students. Leadership in Central School District is provided by a seven-member board. Admiral Akers School is located in the heart of the San Joaquin Valley on the Lemoore Naval Air Station near Lemoore, California. The school was built in 1963 to educate the children of military families. Akers is located half-way between San Francisco and Los Angeles and half-way between the Pacific Ocean and the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

R. J. Neutra teachers and parents wish to effectively prepare our children to live in the world as it will exist in the twenty-first century. We believe that much of the work our children will be doing in the twenty-first century is not yet determined; therefore, we should prepare our children to be life-long learners, to think critically, and be problem-solvers. Our school has a strong sense of purpose and it is the essence of that mission that is conveyed to all who walk through our doors. The principal, staff, and parents envision our school as a place of growth for the total child: intellectual, emotional, social, ethical, and physical. A school where individual needs is recognized so that every member of our school may experience success within an atmosphere of warmth, mutual respect, and caring.

The Lemoore Union High School District is a comprehensive high school district consisting of the main campus of Lemoore High School, an adjoining campus of the Gertrude F. Gundacker Alternative Education Facilities, and Lemoore Middle College High School which is located at the West Hills College Campus in Lemoore, California, a town of over 22,000.

The service area of the district extends to nearly 30,000, including Naval Air Station Lemoore, which provides approximately a fourth of the students to the school. The student body represents a cross section of American socio-economic life. Many of the students from Navy families have had the cultural advantage of work travel while other students' have experienced growing up in a society centered around Agriculture.
